Jade Guide 玉石指南

WHAT IS NEPHRITE JADE

Jade is not one stone but two. Jadeite is the bright emerald green most people picture. Nephrite is the older, softer-looking stone that Chinese carvers have worked for eight thousand years, prized for its warm, oily lustre rather than for vivid colour. Everything we make is natural nephrite, undyed and untreated.

THE THREE COLOURS WE WORK WITH

White Jade. Creamy, almost translucent, often described as mutton-fat. It stands for purity and calm, and it is the classic choice for a piece meant to be passed down.

Spinach Jade. Deep even green, sometimes flecked with black. Grounded and easy to wear every day, and the most popular choice for men.

Yellow Jade. The rarest of the three. A warm honey tone associated with prosperity and good fortune.

HOW TO CARE FOR IT

Keep jade away from perfume, hairspray, bleach and household cleaners. Take it off before swimming or hot springs. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Jade improves with wear, so the best thing you can do for it is put it on.
